Description
The route begins in the meadows of Otsola. From here, we take the GR12 to climb up to Arketako Lepoa. From there, instead of taking the famous winding trail that leads us to Mount Beigañe, where Sorginak is found, we will climb up the opposite side, aiming for the summit of Bordaburu.
A steep trail, where we will probably have to push the bike for the last few meters, will take us to the start of the Mari trail.
The trail begins with a flat and fast section, before entering a steeper slope with banked turns in a spectacular setting. A steep straight section takes us directly to a strong compression, and after a short pedal, we move onto a slope dominated by counter-banked areas. The best riders will know how to use the small supports to propel themselves over loose terrain. A fast finish will bring us to the edge of the Anuskula River, where we might see Mari taking a bath.
After riding and enjoying each of its turns, we finish with a smile on the banks of the Anuskula River, an ideal spot to cool your face on the hottest days.
From here, all that remains is to climb a gentle and manageable track up to the meadows of Otxola.
This route is ideal to combine with Sorginak, creating two very fun downhill trails from Arrarats.
